Raid Two - Research Proposal
This raid requires you to shift from rhetorical analysis of one text and author to broader cultural, social, or political issues and multiple modes of authoring. Before doing any research, you should provide justification for why your topic and the research is important. Write a detailed proposal that discusses your topic, research plan, and purpose in depth for Chapter Two.
Raid Instructions
Decide on a topic for research. You want to choose a topic that is complicated with multiple points of inquiry that you are passionate about. You want to narrow your focus as far as you can (i.e., don't choose the legalization of marijuana, but focus on the medicinal use of cannabis oil and cancer cells. The topic should be arguable, meaning, it must be a topic that is arguing a point in which someone can argue back with counterpoints. This raid is not a summary of events, but a persuasive document that uses rhetoric to inform and persuade. Below is a document of general topics that are initial points of inquiry.

Alternate Adventures
**These Alternate Adventures alter the Raid and Specializations. All Alternate Adventures must be approved by the game master by October 25.**
Video in Adobe Premiere
Make a Three Minute Video that makes an argument for your thesis statement. The video must include narration, images, and motion graphics. This shouldn't just summarize, but should enhance and further your argument. You may use the same arguments and quotations, but you should not read from your paper. Let the images, videos, and text on the screen supplement your narration. Remember to have a full works cited. The video must be made in Adobe Premiere.
Modifications to Raid
If this video is created, the player's specialization is no longer required (though will be rewarded if completed). This also eliminates one peer-reviewed source from the requirements and the word minimum is 1750.
Weebly or Wix Website
Make a website dedicated to your paper. You must make the landing page that summarizes your paper and introduces the reader to your topic (should be extensive). Then, there must be a separate page for each of the arguments and counter arguments. Make sure to use hyperlinks, videos, and images to provide as much information as you can about your topic. You may copy and paste information from your paper, but you MUST make changes to make it flow. Your web pages should reference and call attention to your mutlimodal components.
Modifications to Raid
If this website is created, the player's specialization is no longer required (though will be rewarded if completed). This also changes the paper's word minimum to 1750.
You may propose another option and negotiate the parameters of the piece.
